A “Tobidashi Boya” traffic safety sign spotted at the foot of a pedestrian bridge in Yamaguchicho ヽ(^o^)丿
This article is brought to you with support from “Nichinoken,” a cram school that supports Nishitsu.

When I walked around to the side where I could see it,

it turned out to be a super cute little rhinoceros beetle kid with three horns \(^o^)/
It was my first time seeing this one, so I couldn’t resist snapping a photo!

The creator was the PTA of Yamaguchi Elementary School!
You can really feel the love from the parents (#^.^#)
We’ve received new information!!
Here it is↓
This kid is Yamaguchi Elementary’s mascot character, Gucchi. I don’t think it was a rhinoceros beetle…
I’ve forgotten the detailed backstory, but I believe it was created when the student council at the time held a mascot character contest.
It seems it was adopted as a Tobidashi Boya sign several years later.
The horns and the green part around the face are shaped to represent the kanji for Yamaguchi.— Yu-san (@ten12_ten) May 23, 2021
So it wasn’t a rhinoceros beetle after all… I might look into it again and write an article.
Thank you, Yu-san, for the information!!
