Delicious Sushi at Takatatsu Founded in 1916 on the 1st Floor of ACTA Nishinomiya West Building [Nishitsu Gourmet]

On the 1st floor of ACTA West Wing, we went to the sushi restaurant “高辰,” founded in Taisho 5 (1916), where and enjoyed some delicious sushi(^^♪

What We Ate at Sushi “高辰”

We had the limited-quantity “高辰 Course” with one drink included! Of course, was in charge of the beer!

Sea urchin and jellyfish appetizer with broth, plus a small side dish↓　It was perfect with beer(^_^)v

Sashimi↓　The lean tuna looks delicious, doesn’t it? (^_^)v Both the sea bream and tuna were so good!

I drank beer with these as snacks(^_^)v　Beer at lunchtime is extra tasty～

And then, sushi too↓　Niko says she always eats sushi with her hands and has never used chopsticks for it… She looked totally used to it and ate so happily(*^^)v

(The toppings were striped jack, tuna, squid, shrimp, steamed conger eel, salmon roe, pen shell clam, and sea bream.)

It also comes with akadashi miso soup.

had chawanmushi↓　(You can’t make this silky texture at home! It melts in your mouth while you taste the dashi! And it’s packed with ingredients! The shrimp in particular had the best springy texture and flavor.)

And then, the peak of sushi! We had the “Premium Nigiri”!!! I ended up getting nigiri too… I should have gone with chirashi sushi… But the picture on the menu looked way too good… Sorry m(__)m

(Sea urchin, fatty tuna, steamed conger eel, striped jack, shrimp, squid, tuna, flounder… Beautiful to look at, melt-in-your-mouth toro… sweet sea urchin… squid with such a satisfying bite… Every single topping was so good I couldn’t help making little sounds with each bite. The rice was small, so each piece was easy to eat in one bite! Instead of filling up on rice, you can really enjoy the flavor of each topping. As expected from premium nigiri～!!!)

I wondered if the squid was different from Niko-chan’s, so I asked, and they said every topping in the premium nigiri is cut larger and thicker!(^^)!

We gave in to temptation and ordered a slightly pricier menu item, but they also have great-value lunch options!(^^)!

It’s on the 1st floor of ACTA West Wing. It’s right inside the entrance near the railroad crossing!(^^)!

Takeout is also available. Several customers came in while we were eating.

Store Information for Sushi “高辰”

This long-established sushi restaurant was founded in Taisho 5 (1916). Before ACTA was built, they operated in the shopping street where the market used to be.

Now the 5th-generation owner makes the sushi(^_^)v　He had such a gentle manner and spoke with us calmly～ (Amazingly, he went to the same nursery school as Niko-chan and was born in the same year!)

Final Thoughts

The counter seats are the best seats, where you can chat with the staff. I had no idea there was a shop inside ACTA that has been around for more than 100 years^_^;

We visited this shop after it was recommended by “Curry House Bee-Hot”.

Listening to regular customers chatting warmly with the 4th-generation couple somehow made me feel relaxed and comforted(#^.^#)

I’m sure the 5th-generation owner will continue building these kinds of connections with people too.

March 3 is Hinamatsuri! That’s right, it’s the day for chirashi sushi! It falls on a Tuesday, but they’ll be open that day(^_^)v
