A cake shop along Route 2, “Atelier Palette”(*^^)v
It seems they’ve been operating here for 13 years now (founded in 2002), but for Nikoto Mama, this was a first-time visit.

Here’s what it looks like inside↓

The display case is lined with delicious-looking cakes (#^.^#)

They also have baked sweets and jams, and it looks like they can box them up for gifts.

There’s a bit of reflection in the photo, but they also have pictures displayed of cakes they provided for soccer player Sawa and members of Nadeshiko Japan (^_^)v
They also seem to make birthday cakes shaped like soccer balls or decorated with characters. (Reservations are required 3 days in advance, so please contact the shop for details.)

They’ve set up an air purifier,

and every time customers leave, they spray alcohol and wipe down the automatic door button and the display case glass that children might touch, as part of their coronavirus precautions(^^♪
Of course, they also keep the ventilation fan running all day!!(The photos of the air purifier and alcohol spray are used with permission from the shop’s Instagram.)
Cakes We Bought at “Atelier Palette”

Upper left: Crème Brûlée ¥350 (tax not included)…They crisp up the surface after you order! Apparently, the name means “burnt cream” in French. The smooth, delicious cream with the crunchy texture on top made a tasty accent!(^^)!
Lower left: Nama Chocolate Cake ¥390 (tax not included)…They also sold nama chocolate separately, so as expected, it had a wonderfully smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture. The overall sweetness was just right too(^^)
Upper right: Mont Blanc ¥450 (tax not included)…There was a large chestnut in the center, with sponge underneath. It had a soft texture while still giving you a rich chestnut flavor.
Lower right: Strawberry Shortcake ¥390 (tax not included)…Sweet-tart strawberries, fresh cream, and fluffy sponge! This is the classic cake!
Final Thoughts
This small patisserie is run by the owner and their spouse. The prices are pretty approachable too(^^)
What impressed me was the soccer ball cake! If someone received something like that, not just kids but anyone who plays soccer would probably be thrilled!(^^)!
They’re also taking coronavirus precautions, so cake for a cafe-style break at home might be a great idea~😍
