“tea room IRIS” Opened on November 18 Serving Pumpkin Tart Chai and More Near Kansai Super Taisha Store [Nishitsu Gourmet]

A cafe called “tea room IRIS” opened on November 18 in the Satsukigaoka residential area near Kansai Super Taisha.

IRIS means “ayame” (iris) in German. It’s pronounced “Iris.”

Apparently, the name comes from the owner’s grandmother’s name～ So lovely

It’s a cafe with high ceilings, lots of books, and even a piano and organ.

And since it’s tucked away in a residential neighborhood, it really feels like an adults’ hidden retreat～

I was way too curious, so I went right away～(^_^)

What I ate at “tea room IRIS”

Baguette sandwich and soup set　\1,300

Today’s baguette: Thick-cut bacon and cheese
Today’s soup: Chicken stewed in wine

The chicken stewed in wine was packed with vegetables and even had thick-cut bacon, so it was full of ingredients～

It had such great umami and tasted really authentic! The vegetables added a nice sweetness too, and it was delicious～😀

Apparently, the owner bakes this baguette too, so everything is handmade♪

The thick-cut bacon, cheese, and marinated vegetables were in perfect harmony～

There were nuts in it too, which made it even better😃

When I mentioned that the two of us would share both the soup and baguette, they kindly served them divided for us(^_^)

That kind of thoughtfulness is really nice.

Pumpkin tart　\950

This cake is also handmade. The pumpkin was moist, and the walnuts and pumpkin seeds added a nice accent. The gentle sweetness matched the owner’s warm, cozy vibe, and it was delicious～

For drinks, we ordered chai and the limited-time Mist Valley.

The Mist Valley is served in a pot.　On its own, it’s 580 yen

Such a lovely black tea aroma～

You can almost smell the wonderful aroma from the chai too, right～ On its own, it’s 500 yen

I wonder if the scent of black tea has a calming effect on the mind…

My mom and I had a relaxing, lovely tea time together～

The bookshelves are packed with books.
They’re books that have been in the family since the owner’s grandfather and grandmother’s generation.

The view from the second floor. It has a mature atmosphere and feels like a calm, relaxing space.

There are manga,

and classic literature too.

There were just so many books.

The atmosphere inside was warm, and it was a very comfortable place to spend time.

Final thoughts

The owner apparently trained at Mahisa, a specialty black tea shop.
In such a relaxed space, the tea brewed by the gentle owner tastes truly special♪
The baguettes and cakes are handmade too, and they were honestly so delicious(^_^)
