New Meiwa Rehabilitation Hospital in Koshien Looks Super Comfortable and Easy to Work At with On-Site Childcare for Medical Staff

Opened this January, “Meiwa Rehabilitation Hospital” is a hospital specializing in rehabilitation, with extensive care and support to help patients recover.

Previously, Nishitsu covered the hospital while it was still under construction,

but this time, we got to take a look inside the new hospital! I thought it was pretty rare to be able to work in a place with this location, these facilities, and these conditions.

We spoke with nurse Kayo-san (left) and physical therapist Honda-san (right), who both started working at “Meiwa Rehabilitation Hospital” in January.

With a Nursery On-Site, Moms Can Feel at Ease

To jump right in, Kayo-san, you’re working here as a nurse while also leaving your child in care, right?

That’s right. There’s a really well-equipped nursery here, and it’s been such a big help.

What exactly is it like?

A bright, clean nursery room. There are plenty of toys, picture books, and play equipment, so it looks like the kids can play without getting bored.

First of all, the nursery staff are very kind, and they’ve created an environment where the children can really enjoy themselves.

That’s incredibly reassuring. By the way, do they also offer nighttime childcare?

Yes, they can look after my child even when I have night shifts, so it really helps. The nighttime childcare staff are all very reliable too, so I can focus on work with peace of mind.

It feels like there aren’t many hospitals that will look after children until nighttime on-site, so that must be a huge help.

They even keep small crabs at the nursery, so the children can interact with living creatures.

It’s also nice that they have a grassy playground. They can even set up a pool, so it sounds like the kids can enjoy water play in the summer. Being able to play under the blue sky sounds great.

They also have a latest-model baby cart, so outdoor play is fully covered too.

Honestly, What Are the Workplace Relationships Like?

Having a place to leave your child must give you peace of mind! But what has it actually been like working here?

The thing that surprised me most after actually starting work here was how good the relationships are among the staff!
