Koinobori carp streamers are hanging over the Shukugawa River.

These photos were taken on Tuesday, April 7.

According to Maemin, a Nishitsu reader, they had been up since Monday, April 6〜
Here’s the location on the map↓
Just south of Hankyu Shukugawa Station, around the area between the station and Yamate Kansen.

We write about the Shukugawa koinobori every year on Nishitsu, but in past years we often published the article around April 14, so this year might be one of the earliest ever.

People passing by were also saying, “Oh, koinobori. Already? That’s early!”〜

As for Shukugawa, the cherry blossoms have now passed full bloom and are starting to fall little by little. I always had the impression that the koinobori usually go up after the cherry blossoms have mostly fallen, so even from that perspective, they’re definitely quite early this year.

They were also up by Hokobashi Bridge near Shukugawa Public Hall〜. I forgot to take a photo with the bridge💦

It might be pretty rare to enjoy both cherry blossoms and koinobori together. It’s also nice that we can enjoy them for a long while, from now until around May〜
*Maemin, thank you very much for the tip!!
