The “multi-story parking garage” and “deck building,” which had been under construction ahead of the opening of the new hospital building in 2026, have been completed. They are apparently scheduled to go into full operation from April 2021.
The new multi-story parking garage has increased its capacity by more than 100 spaces (from 480 to 587), which should help ease congestion on nearby roads. It can also serve as a tsunami evacuation building.
In the deck building, くるみ薬局 will newly open in April, and students and faculty members will be able to access the main floor from the Education and Research Building, where they are stationed, via the second-floor entrance.
Going forward, the existing buildings (Building No. 9 and the former multi-story parking garage) are scheduled to be demolished from October 2021, with detailed design work set to begin in fiscal 2021.
