It looks like karaage specialty shops in Nishinomiya have won Gold Awards at the “13th Karaage Grand Prix®.”
And amazingly, two shops won awards.

※What is the Karaage Grand Prix?
That’s what it says.
Jinenjo Tororo-don Specialty Shop “Kurojuya”
“Kurojuya” won the “Japan Trending Donburi Awards” in 2021.
It seems this was their first time entering the Karaage Grand Prix, and they won Gold.

It’s located in “Gardens Kitchen,” the food court on the 1st floor of Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens.

There was a notice about the award posted in front of the shop.
Even from the photo, you can almost sense how fragrant and tasty it must be.

TORIKARA STAND(トリカラスタンド)
TORIKARA STAND(トリカラスタンド) is a famous shop that has won many awards, including four Gold Awards in the Central Japan Flavor Variety Category at past Karaage Grand Prix events, as well as the “Karaage Bento Grand Prix Gold Award” and the “Karaage Koshien Gold Award.”

Unfortunately, they weren’t open for lunch today.

Their business calendar was posted in front of the shop.
Currently, it says they’re open 17:00–23:00 on weekends and holidays, and 18:00–23:00 on weekdays.
It looks like lunch service is scheduled to resume soon.
If the shop were open, it would probably look something like this. This is an older photo.

In Closing
Everyone loves karaage.
It’s pretty exciting that you can enjoy two different Gold Award-winning flavors right here in Nishinomiya!
And apparently, another shop that won a Gold Award this time is scheduled to open in Nishinomiya very soon.
Looks like we’ll just have to try all three.
