It looks like the J-Alert test broadcast over the disaster prevention speakers scheduled for 11:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, August 23, has been canceled.

Today’s training broadcast over the disaster prevention administrative radio system and other channels (outdoor speakers, emergency alert radios, and individual receivers), scheduled for around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, has been postponed nationwide following a notice from the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

Apparently, the reason given was “because there was a notification regarding a satellite launch from North Korea.” Come to think of it, when the previous test on July 12 was canceled, they said it was due to a ballistic missile. The next one might end up being about a month later too.
※Iroha, Kagakiyaki No. 509, and Sasako, thank you for the information!!
