From Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, June 2, the “Nishinomiya Satsuki Exhibition” will apparently be held at Nishinomiya Shrine.
(Information provided by Iroha @ Nishi2 sp)

This is an exhibition of award-winning “satsuki bonsai” works, held every year around this time at Nishinomiya Shrine 🌸
Date and Time
Saturday, May 25 to Sunday, June 2
Location
Nishinomiya Shrine grounds (free admission)
Below are some satsuki that were on display at last year’s event.

The asymmetry is beautiful ✨ The trunk has so much character.
There are all kinds of awards, aren’t there? They really do look a lot like azaleas 🌺

The Nishinomiya Satsuki Exhibition can be viewed in the parking area inside Nishinomiya Shrine,
about a 3-minute walk south from Hanshin Nishinomiya Station.
At the venue, you can also buy seedlings and ask about how to grow them.#西宮神社#西宮さつき展#盆栽#鉢植え#阪神西宮駅 pic.twitter.com/rRoIEkMsQa— Hanshin Nishinomiya Outing Information Center (@hsnnishiodekake) May 21, 2022
At the event two years ago, it seems that Mayor Ishii’s satsuki was on display, and seedlings were also sold 😃
In Closing
Satsuki and azaleas really do look alike(apparently the difference is subtle, and satsuki flowers have slightly smaller petals), but I wonder if satsuki nectar would taste good too 🤔
*Iroha @ Nishi2 sp, thank you for the information!!
