A heartwarming dashi experience right by Ebessan!

Just 30 seconds on foot from the east gate of Nishinomiya Shrine, you’ll find “Dashi no Mise Tsumiki.” Opened in April 2010, this Japanese restaurant is run by head chef Kanayama, trained in the style of Kobe Kitcho, who welcomes guests with serious, carefully made dashi.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 6-20 Baba-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
If you want to taste the dashi, start with the “dashimaki”!

Fluffy, silky, and bursting with flavor~~🤤 With one bite, an elegant sweetness spreads through your mouth, enough to make you wonder, “Wait, is there sugar in this!?” Then comes the golden dashi, overflowing with flavor. It’s one of those Nishinomiya foods you just can’t stop eating.
At three big events each year, this dashimaki draws huge lines!
Getting authentic dashimaki from a festival stall is pretty rare, even nationwide, isn’t it?!
- January 9-11: Toka Ebisu Ebessan’s dashimaki has lines from morning to night, doesn’t it?
- July 9-10: Yebisu Beer Festa Yebisu Beer × piping-hot dashimaki
- Early October: Sake Brewery Renaissance and Food Fair Perfect with Japanese sake
I think plenty of Nishinomiya locals say, “The first line I join at a festival is the Tsumiki stall!”
Sashimi, meat, salad… everything plays a perfect supporting role alongside the dashi

・Medium-fatty bluefin tuna ・Sea bream ・Yellowtail ・Vinegared mackerel, etc.
Enjoy the crisp, chilled sashimi with special soy sauce infused with the aroma of kombu.

Meltingly tender Kuroge Wagyu beef, refreshed with homemade ponzu scented with sudachi citrus. The sweetness of the fat and the citrus tang will keep you going back for more~!

More than 10 kinds of colorful vegetables topped with a soft, creamy onsen egg. With the aromatic vegetable dashi dressing, it feels like your body is being refreshed from the inside♪
Inside, there are tables and horigotatsu seating, perfect for families and business entertaining◎

The horigotatsu seating in the back is especially popular with families with small children. Head chef Kanayama is someone with true love for Ebessan, continuing to help clean Nishinomiya Shrine on the second Monday of every month. That warmth seems to fill the atmosphere of the restaurant too~

They’re closed on Wednesdays, but they stay open throughout Obon and the Ebisu Festival! If you’re thinking, “I’d like to stop by after visiting the shrine,” then 📞booking now is the surest way to go~♪
