All 20 Nishinomiya Municipal Junior High Schools
Shiose Junior High School and Yamaguchi Junior High School do not fit on the map, but there are 20 schools in total.
About the Cost of the Heating and Cooling Systems
The total project cost is about 646 million yen, and installation is expected to take place from summer 2020 onward.
646 million yen works out to about 32.3 million yen per school.
What Are Gas Air Conditioners Like?
According to the source, Enechange,
- Gas cooling uses only an astonishing 1/10 of the electricity
- Electricity costs can be reduced to as little as 1/100!!
That sounds pretty amazing!
It would be great if there were models for homes, but apparently gas air conditioners for household use are not currently being sold.(Too bad)
Gas air conditioners were apparently once installed as built-in equipment in some apartments, but because the market was too small, they are no longer newly manufactured or sold.
On the other hand, some large facilities such as schools, hospitals, and office buildings do seem to use them.
Well-known facilities such as Tokyo Dome, Ueno Zoo, and Waseda University apparently have gas air conditioners installed.

Finally
Considering the record-breaking summer heat in recent years, installing air conditioning may be only natural.
It can help prevent heatstroke among students and may also serve as a shelter during disasters, so installing these systems at all 20 schools is welcome news for local residents.
