A new restaurant called Seasonal Cuisine “Yuzuya” opened in Shukugawa this year.
We covered it in an opening article on Nishitsu, and also featured it once in a food article. Since we heard they also serve lunch, this time we visited during lunchtime and tried their lunch menu.

Seasonal Cuisine “Yuzuya” Dishes
They have several lunch options, but this time I decided to order the “Yuzuya Gozen” (1,380 yen), which is named after the restaurant.
This is the “Yuzuya Gozen.”
It’s a lunch set with assorted sashimi, assorted tempura, fried chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce, a small side dish, rice, clear soup, and pickles.
The tempura is an assortment including shrimp, pumpkin, and okra. The batter is thin and fried crisp, just as you’d expect from a specialty Japanese restaurant.
It’s not shown in the photo, but the tempura dipping sauce was also delicious, with a nice dashi flavor.
The daikon in the small side dish and the clear soup also had wonderful dashi flavor, which really shows how important dashi is for a Japanese restaurant.
The fried chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce is karaage topped with sweet-and-sour sauce.
The juicy fried chicken and the slightly tangy sweet-and-sour sauce were a perfect match, and this was also very tasty.
Of course, the sashimi was fresh and delicious too.

Most of the options are set meals, but they also have tendon, a tempura rice bowl.
Since the tempura and dipping sauce were so good, I’m sure this tendon is delicious too……
