For three days from 1/10 (Sat.) to 1/12 (Mon.), a booth where you can take “Korean photo booth” pictures will be set up📸
What is a “Korean photo booth”?
“Korean photo booths” are a photo booth culture from Korea that’s a little different from Japan’s purikura. While Japanese purikura is all about looking extra cute, doodles, and decorations, Korean photo booths focus more on a natural look and atmosphere. They’re often black-and-white, with simple backgrounds, giving your photos a stylish, current feel〜
On 1/12 (Mon., national holiday), if you’re eligible for the Coming-of-Age Gathering, it looks like you can get a free Korean photo booth session if you win at rock-paper-scissors. *Show the Reiwa 8 “Coming-of-Age Gathering” invitation postcard or something that confirms you are within the eligible age range, such as a driver’s license or student ID.
On the other days, it seems anyone can take photos for 500 yen〜😄
Hatachi Discount
On 1/12 (Mon., national holiday), there also seems to be a “Hatachi Discount” for people eligible for the Coming-of-Age Gathering🎁 If you show your invitation postcard, driver’s license, or similar ID, you can receive special deals at participating shops inside the facility〜

Final Thoughts
Of course, Miyakko taking part in this year’s Coming-of-Age Gathering may want to check it out, but younger people in their teens and 20s, as well as fans of Korean culture, might also be tempted to give it a try. These days, lots of people take Korean photo booth-style pictures on their phones too, but the nice thing about this booth is that you can keep them as stickers.
