Scenes from just after New Year’s Day began at Mondo Yakujin
From Yummy Yummy.

The atmosphere at Mondo Yakujin is really nice, isn’t it?

An eto zodiac painting that makes everyone feel at ease when they see it.
Next, from Manabu Taguchi.

Do you know about this at Mondo Yakujin?

It’s called Keiju-seki, and it’s a fossilized tree. It holds power from 80 million years ago. Looks like it might give you some power

Bathing your body in the incense smoke. It’s said to purify the body, and that wafting it over parts of the body that are unwell helps them heal
Next, from a Kagayaki supporter.

There are lots of food stalls from Mondo Yakujin Station to Tokoji, which makes it fun.

This is by the parking lot. It’s yakuyoke zenzai, sweet red bean soup for warding off misfortune.

There are also food stalls after you enter the temple grounds.

This area filled with candles has such a unique atmosphere.

By the way, it sounds like the special prayer area at Mondo Yakujin has changed!

It has returned to the main hall, where it was before COVID. (Info from Kattan)

Scenes from just after New Year’s Day began at Hirota Shrine
Also from Yummy Yummy.

This is our first nighttime photo.
Next, from Manabu Taguchi.

When you think of Hirota Shrine, you think of the Hanshin Tigers sake barrels.

The zodiac painting is something to look forward to every year. A white horse with wings is galloping through the sky.
Next, from Kagayaki No. 509, a Nishitsu supporter.

At Hirota Shrine, you can pray not only in the center but also while lined up widely to the left and right, so remember that it’s OK to spread out.

There was a photo service by Hirota Shrine staff.

Aren’t the horse figurines super cute? I like the gourd with “福” written on it.

A Shiba Inu! Wait, what’s it doing?

Oh! Bow and arrows!

A shrine where you can try archery is pretty rare, isn’t it?

It snowed on this day. It was January 2.
