A stone monument called the “Monument to Contributors to Kansai Wind Music” has been installed at Nishinomiya Shrine, and it looks like an unveiling ceremony was held on the 5th.

It is engraved with the teachings of Takashi Asahina, the founder of the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra.
Wind music is apparently very popular in Kansai, with groups from the region making up about half of the prizewinners in student competitions. Nishinomiya City, in particular, is known for this:

Imazu Junior High School has won gold 15 times at the All Japan Band Competition

Kami-Koshien Junior High School has won gold for four consecutive years at the All Japan Marching Contest!
That’s amazing, isn’t it〜🏆👏[/box]

By the way, where exactly is this monument inside Nishinomiya Shrine??
After watching the news over and over and looking around…

It was near the Akamon Gate〜!
I ended up walking around the shrine two or three times 😂

When I took the photo, the tent from the unveiling ceremony was still there!
Here’s the map for Nishinomiya Shrine↓
The address is 1-17 Shakecho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Lastly
Starting next year, May 5 has apparently been designated “Kansai Wind Music Day”!
Nishinomiya Shrine is also home to Hyakudayu Shrine, the shrine of the performing arts, so if you’re involved in music, why not stop by for a visit〜😊?
