“Chūka Sai Sai Shin” Mapo Tofu Lunch + Mini Sweet-and-Sour Pork Near Mondo-Yakujin Station [Nishitsu Gourmet]

I went to have lunch at “中華菜 彩心”, which had its grand opening on June 2(^^)v

“中華菜 彩心” Mapo Tofu Lunch + Mini Sweet and Sour Pork

There were five lunch menu options, and since this place specializes in authentic Sichuan Chinese cuisine, I went with the classic: mapo tofu!

Since the menu also let you add mini sweet and sour pork for an extra ¥300, I ordered that too〜（╹◡╹）♡

Lunch only: “Mapo Tofu” (rice, salad, soup, pickles, almond jelly) ¥1,300 (tax included)

Plus “Mini Sweet and Sour Pork” ¥300 (tax included)

First came the salad(^^)v

The decorative cucumber cuts were beautiful, the vegetables were crisp, and the dressing had a very authentic feel.

Next was the soup!

It had plenty of corn, fluffy egg, and a rich Chinese-style broth flavor(^^)v

The main dish: mapo tofu!

It had that true Sichuan flavor, with just the right level of spicy kick!

I enjoyed it as-is and also spooned it over white rice(*^◯^*)

The mini sweet and sour pork came with three big pieces of meat!

The meat was super crispy! The sweet-and-sour sauce coated it perfectly, giving it an amazing texture and flavor(*^^*)

You could also tell they didn’t cut corners with the white rice or pickles.

Dessert was almond jelly, beautifully topped with red goji berries.

It was different from the almond jelly I usually see! Not pure white, but a soft creamy color!

The texture and mouthfeel were closer to a chewy pudding, giving it the feel of a truly authentic dessert（╹◡╹）♡

Final Thoughts

The prices are approachable, but the flavors are those of a truly authentic Chinese restaurant.
