Let’s jump right in and introduce the things @Nishitsu members were glad they bought in August.
At the end, there’s a little “Which one do you want?” survey, so we’d be thrilled if you voted (^o^)Last month we got 54 votes! Thank you😁
By the way, last month’s most popular item was the karaage asahi “whole chicken thigh” bought by

Now then, let’s get into the things we’re glad we bought in August (^o^)/

Why We’re Glad We Bought Them and Recommended Points
A “Coleman Butterfly Table” bought at Sports Authority in Imazu
’s glad-they-bought-it item
This table is actually for camping.
But it turned out to be amazing for home use too, so I highly recommend it!

First of all, it’s light.
For its size, it’s incredibly easy to lift.
Next, the height can be adjusted to three levels. And it’s super easy!
① Standard table height
② Height that works well with low outdoor chairs (might be good for a sofa too)
③ For sitting on the floor

And it folds in half, so you can use it right away whenever you need it.
This is the best part.
I don’t like leaving tables out because they make the room feel cramped.

But this one folds up easily.
And since it’s light, you can put it away in no time. It’s seriously great.
The only downside is that the load capacity is up to 30 kg, so if an adult gets on it, it’ll break.
By the way, the one I bought is 120 cm wide and 70 cm deep, but they also had a 90 cm-wide version.
This one was selling for around 19,800 yen. It’s not exactly cheap, but I think it’s good value.
(Oh, and when I mentioned this at Nishitsu, Mama @ Nishitsu had one too.)
ALLIE tinted sunscreen bought at Sugi Pharmacy
’s glad-they-bought-it item
It had been raining foreeeever, but the sun is finally back.
Wearing a mask under the blazing sun feels like I’m about to collapse, and my makeup turns into a mess(笑)
Looks like the heat is going to stick around for a while.
So, following last month, Hii-chan @ Nishitsu is back with part two of summer goods!

It’s ALLIE Color Tuning UV PU Purple Color (SPF50+ / PA++++) 1,760 yen (tax included).

What’s great about it? It’s tinted.

It’s a sunscreen that also color-corrects your skin, which somehow feels like something that should have existed before but didn’t (?).
This one is the purple type, so it brightens your skin by one tone.
And on top of that, it’s “SPF50+ / PA++++” (the highest level in Japan’s sunscreen rating system)〜♡
Typical makeup primers are around “SPF25・PA++,” which feels like it might not be enough for midsummer. But if you apply a strong sunscreen, then primer, then foundation, the layers keep building up and your makeup starts to crease, right?
With this, “strong sunscreen + primer” is done in one step.
If you’re just going shopping nearby, this alone is enough.
Plus, it doesn’t crease easily under a mask. Even if sweat makes it shift a little, since you’re only wearing this one product, it’s easy to reapply while you’re out. I went to buy it in July and it was sold out, but I finally got it in August.
It comes in two colors: purple and apricot. I’m definitely getting it again next year.
A big book haul at the bookstore
’s glad-they-bought-it item

I had a 5,000 yen gift certificate that couldn’t give change, so I went and did a big book haul (?) at the bookstore!
Since we had to use it all at once, I told the kids, “Go pick whatever you like!” and made it their last event of summer vacation. (Though I did sneak in one book that I wanted them to read. haha)
Including a 400 yen Noraneko Gundan figure, it came to around 5,300 yen!
We used it up nicely!
Various drinks bought from vending machines around Nishinomiya
’s glad-they-bought-it item

Just like last month, it’s drinks, but by bringing a Thermos bottle I had at home, I’ve been buying things other than water too.

※Carbonated drinks tend to overflow, so I don’t recommend them.
A “folding glasses case” bought at DULTON DAY STACK
’s glad-they-bought-it item
I bought it at DULTON DAY STACK Mukonoso. It was ¥680!
A folding glasses case.
I’d been struggling with bulky cases getting in the way inside my bag when I’m wearing sunglasses, so I found a good one!

When you’re not using it, it flattens down, which is great!
KALDI’s “Freeze-Dried Cilantro”
’s glad-they-bought-it item
KALDI’s “Freeze-Dried Cilantro”
Just sprinkle it over salads, soups, or stir-fries, and it easily adds an ethnic-style flavor. A great find!
“Drinkmate” bought at Nishinomiya Hankyu
’s glad-they-bought-it item

I finally bought a sparkling water maker!!
I often drink highballs at home, so I used to buy Wilkinson, but the plastic bottles would pile up as trash…
I’d been debating it for ages.
Since buying this, my highball life at home has been very comfortable😀

Things I’m glad about after buying Drinkmate
- You can carbonate with just one button
- You can drink sparkling water anytime
- It doesn’t need an outlet, so you can carry it around
- You can carbonate drinks other than water too
(I haven’t carbonated anything besides water yet, but someday I want to carbonate wine and make sparkling wine) - No plastic bottle trash
- You can choose from four carbonation levels
Things I noticed after actually using it
- I feel like the carbonation goes flat quickly
That’s the only thing that bothers me so far. Whenever I think it’s gone a little flat, I add more carbonation, but then I feel like the gas runs out quickly〜
