The daily set meal on this day was an assorted tempura plate.
Shrimp… plump and juicy, with savory flavor spreading through your mouth.
Hamo… the batter was thin yet crisp, and the fluffy hamo inside made it perfect with rice.
Okra… it had been made into tempura while still keeping its signature stickiness.
Shiitake… plump and tender, it felt like it was telling me autumn had arrived.
Eggplant… so soft it practically melted in my mouth.
Lotus root… thick-cut, so together with the batter it had a satisfying crunch.
It was the kind of tempura where the goodness of each ingredient wasn’t lost, but rather gently wrapped in batter.
The salad had crisp vegetables topped with sesame dressing.
A comforting miso soup with fried tofu and wakame. The green onions here were crisp too ( ^ω^ )
