It has been changed to one of the thin “pera-pera traffic lights” that have become quite common around the city.
The Pedestrian Signal Is No Longer Push-Button Operated
The push button is gone, and it has become a standard fixed-cycle traffic light.
Finally
Now that you don’t have to press a button, if the timing is right, you can cross without waiting. This road is kind of a shortcut between Route 171 and the Osawa-Nishinomiya Line, so quite a few people probably use it often by car.
