Welcome to “Nishinomiya’s Tough Plants,” a series introducing weeds and flowers around Nishinomiya that are doing their best to grow, just like the famous “fighting daikon” plants that pop up through pavement.
This time, we found a plant in the flower bed at “Aobadai Dai-4 Park” that might be trying a little too hard!
This is “Aobadai Dai-4 Park.” We were there on a Nishitsu assignment this time, so some of the other members came along too!
And here we found a supeeeeeer long flower!
What’s more, it was tucked away in the corner of a pansy flower bed!!
That’s a cosmos, right?? Do they really grow this tall🙄??
Even taking the height of the flower bed into account, it was about as tall as 175 cm Yumacchi reaching up with her arm! Maybe around 2 meters!?
That’s some serious growth, especially from the corner of a flower bed😂👍
And just then! It looked like Shacho had spotted something!!

In Closing
We usually look for “tough plants” around our office in Shukugawa, but this was my first time reporting in the northern area! We found some other interesting plants in this park too!
