Ashibeya is a wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop, but it doesn’t have a storefront with products lined up ^^;
Still, if you reserve by phone by the day before, you can go pick things up, so I bought “sansho okowa” and more!
Ashibeya’s “Sansho Okowa” and More

The “sansho okowa” and “yomogi daifuku” come packaged like this for takeout (^^)

“Sansho okowa” 324 yen per go (tax included)The photo shows 2 go, about 2 servings

There’s plenty of sansho mixed into the sticky rice ヽ(^o^)丿
I’d only ever seen sansho as a powder sprinkled on eel, or cooked into tsukudani with chirimen jako!
The flavor is… perfectly saltedI guess this is what you’d call just the right balance (#^.^#)

The saltiness is on the sansho, and when you chew it together with the steamed white sticky rice,
that sansho’s fresh, tingling sensation becomes addictive ヽ(^。^)ノ

Yomogi Daifuku 150 yen (tax included)
Since this is a wagashi shop, I also reserved and bought their popular yomogi daifuku!
Look at that cross-section! Packed with anko!
And the amount of yomogi is incredible !(^^)!Kurayan said she’d never tasted this much yomogi before
It was a daifuku that felt like everything was the real deal!! I wanted to eat more (^^)
Their sakura mochi and kashiwa mochi must be authentic too. I’d love to try them each season!
“Ashibeya” Shop Information
Here it is on the map ↓
The address is 1-12-18 Namaze-cho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.

After you exit the ticket gates at JR Namaze Station,

walk to the left for a bit.

There’s an electronics shop around in front of JA,

so turn left there. When you get around the area just after turning right at the end of the road, give them a call to say you’ve arrived ヽ(^o^)丿
A very kind motherly lady will come out from the home in the back 😊
They do not sell items on the day!
Be sure to call and reserve by the day before!
※From the end of the year (December 25 onward), they are making New Year’s mochi, so they apparently cannot make okowa, daifuku, or other wagashi ^^;

Lastly
They serve you with such a warm atmosphere, it feels like visiting your mom back home,
and it’s as if that personality is reflected in the flavors of the okowa and daifuku too (^^)
In autumn, they apparently have chestnut okowa and ohagi! Wagashi really lets you feel the seasons, doesn’t it?
Please be sure to call and reserve in advance ヽ(^o^)丿
If you go by car, please be considerate of the nearby residents! There was also coin parking in front of the station (^^)
And finally, finally, the “san” in sansho is written 山, not 三 ^^;
