With a new chief priest welcomed from Nishinomiya Shrine, Naruo Hachiman Shrine is looking really nice now (^^)/

The approach leading straight to the main shrine has a torii gate that really gives you a sense of its long history!
Naruo Hachiman Shrine has a very old history, with its founding dating back to the 1440s, more than 500 years ago. It has continued to watch over the people of the Naruo area, and long ago, the people of Naruo Village!

After being damaged by the 2018 typhoon, the roof had been left as it was, but now it’s been covered with sheets. We’re looking forward to the full-scale repairs to come!
The kanzakura winter cherry blossoms, which began blooming on November 20 and had a handwritten sign beside them, looked like red and white blossoms, almost as if they were celebrating how nice the shrine has become (*^-^*)
The shrine office has also been cleaned up nicely,
and the huge trees on the shrine grounds were being protected too (^^)/
Thanks to the efforts of local residents, it feels like the shrine is ready to welcome the New Year in a refreshing way (^^)/
The bright red nandina berries on the shrine grounds also add to the New Year’s atmosphere!

For New Year’s, they’ll apparently have amulets, ofuda talismans, omikuji fortune slips, ema prayer plaques, and more ready !(^^)!
I’m not a local resident, but somehow it makes me really happy!
