Strawberry daifuku from “Kyo Sagano Takejian”

There are six kinds of “strawberry daifuku” in total!
It’s not the fruit inside the fruit daifuku that changes, but the flavor of the bean paste. That’s kind of unusual, isn’t it? 😊

Strawberry daifuku (from left: apple bean paste, chunky red bean paste, Uji matcha bean paste) 270 yen each (tax included)

From the left: apple bean paste, chunky red bean paste, and Uji matcha bean paste.
The one I had the hardest time imagining was the “apple bean paste,” and it turned out to be a sweet-tart white bean paste with an apple flavor!
The “chunky red bean paste” is a sure winner 😋👍 It goes so well with the tartness of the strawberry!
The “Uji matcha bean paste” has a gentle matcha bitterness, so it’s not too sweet!

Strawberry daifuku (from left: smooth red bean paste, Ogura cream, milk bean paste) 270 yen each (tax included)

From the left: smooth red bean paste, Ogura cream, and milk bean paste.
The “smooth red bean paste” is moist and silky. I always have trouble choosing between this and the chunky red bean paste! Which one do you prefer?
If you’ve never tried the combination of “Ogura cream” with red bean paste and cream, you should definitely give it a try! I love it 🙆
The “milk bean paste” feels like a gently flavored white bean paste 😊

The sight of all those strawberries lined up in the display case is impressive!!
By Shacho@Nishitsu’s rough calculation, there are about 250 strawberries, haha.

The strawberries looked so cute, like they were sleeping lined up in a crib, so I copied the look in this photo 😊
Warabimochi from “Kyo Sagano Takejian”

Warabimochi (300g) 540 yen (tax included)

These are large pieces of jiggly warabimochi covered generously with kinako soybean flour.
For this much at 540 yen, it seems like a good deal!
The flavor was on the less-sweet side!

Both are packaged like this.
It looks like these two need to be eaten by the end of the day.

They also have yomogi daifuku, matcha jelly, and mini-sized black soybean daifuku and kusa mochi that are just right for a small souvenir!
I want to try everything… 😋
Location of “Plum Cube”

The shop is next to the Lawson that opened last month, on the path toward ACTA after exiting the north ticket gates.
