At the vending machine in front of the tobacco shop on the south side of JR Nishinomiya Station, in Nishinomiya Higashiguchi Shopping Street, COVID-19 antigen test kits are now being sold!

It says “COVID-19 Antigen Test Kit”!

This vending machine only accepts 1,000-yen bills, and apparently it only takes one bill, so be careful!
You need to insert exactly 1,900 yen, or one 1,000-yen bill and two 500-yen coins.
(I had to rush off to break some money… sob.)

I bought one and tried it

You have to rinse your mouth and wait 30 minutes, make sure no bubbles get in, clear your throat… There seem to be quite a few conditions for taking the test😓

Thankfully, it was negative!
You put the saliva collected with the dropper into the S spot and wait 8 minutes.
When the C line appears, the test is complete.
(If a line appears at T in the middle, it’s positive😱)

If it’s the same kind of bottle, I’d rather have this one.

Final thoughts

So test kits can finally be bought from a vending machine now😳
The test kits I’d seen before were the kind where you collect a sample, send it somewhere, and then get the result later… not something that gives you an answer right away. But this one gave a result in 8 minutes!
The number of infections has been rising sharply over the past few days. Knowing you can test yourself before going to the hospital gives you a little peace of mind.
