It looks like an initiative called “Plastic Smart Action Nishinomiya” has started to help reduce plastic waste.
And this poster is cooler than anything we’ve seen before!!

Right? The design is somehow really stylish, and even Miyatan looks fashionable with the English text〜😊
Then, when Shacho @ Nishitsu saw this poster, he said one thing…

O-oh, oh, you’re right〜😱
Scary… and deep… (Can you see it?)
By the way, here’s the back↓

Plastic Waste
Apparently, about 80% of the trash that washes up in Osaka Bay is plastic waste〜!
Plastic waste has a major impact on marine ecosystems: sea creatures may mistake it for food and die, or get tangled in it and injured. On top of that, fish can eat plastic that has absorbed harmful substances, which could ultimately affect human health.
Also, when plastic is burned, it releases greenhouse gases (CO2), which contribute to global warming. So reducing plastic can also help reduce CO2 emissions.
What We Can Do to Reduce Plastic Waste (4 Basic Principles)
●Reduce
Use your own bottle, bag, cup, and so on to cut down on waste.
●Reuse
If something can still be used, pass it on to someone else or use it again.
●Recycle
When throwing away plastic products, sort them properly and help turn them back into resources.
●No littering
Don’t litter, and help keep the city beautiful.

Did you spot the “hidden picture”〜?
Once you notice it, it’s so scary it almost gives you chills…😫
This must be a warning, right…?🤔
I’m going to try to be a little more mindful so I can reduce my plastic waste too〜🙋
