A “Kageboshi (Shadow) Sundial” has been installed at Kitaguchicho No. 2 Park along the Hankyu Imazu Line.

Here it is on the map↓
The address is 28-1 Kitaguchicho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture.

It’s a sundial where you stand on the footprints and use the position of your own shadow to tell the time. Since the sun’s position changes depending on the season and time of day, this sundial has five sets of footprints.
The standing positions appear to be, from the back: the summer solstice (late June), May or early November, March or late September, and the winter solstice (late December).
When you actually stand there, it looks like this↓↓

Finally
It seems to have been installed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Kitaguchicho Neighborhood Association. Kitaguchicho Park is located along the Hankyu Imazu Line, so you can see trains up close, and the illuminations are beautiful too. Why not stop by sometime?
