This is the “Nishinomiya Quiz” section, where knowing the answer proves you’re a true Nishinomiya expert.
Here’s today’s quiz↓
Q. How do you read this town name? “御茶家所町”

The correct answer rate among the Nishitsu team was 60%

Life opened here in August 2020~

There’s also an AOKI.
Actually, when you look at this AOKI on Google Maps, it says “AOKI Hyogo Shukugawa Main Store”. Wait, this was the main store?! I had no idea~

Also, Otemae University is in Ochayashocho too♪
The correct answer is “Ochayashocho”.

It sounds like something that would show up in a tongue twister~ lol
People who live in this town must have such a hard time giving their address over the phone~
The kind where the other person keeps asking, “Huh??” “Sorry??” over and over~
People who are used to it probably have some clever way of explaining it~
The origin of “御茶家所町”
It seems the mikoshi from Nishinomiya Shrine and Hirota Shrine used to travel to Wadamisaki in Hyogo Prefecture~ (a ritual procession to Hyogo Wadamisaki was held). Apparently, the place where there was a teahouse where the procession would rest (御茶家所) is where today’s Ochayashocho is located.
Since similar rest stops also existed in neighboring Ashiya and Kobe,
there’s apparently an area called Chayanomachi in Ashiya City, and a Chaya district in Kobe as well~
