There was a family of spot-billed ducks in the lower reaches of the Shukugawa River.

Looks like there are six ducklings. On this day, May 18, they were taking a break on a rock.

Here’s a closer look! Their feathers are still so fluffy. They really look like babies. They seem so soft.

Even closer. The way they’re snuggled cheek to cheek is just too cute. 💛 Their faces look kind of yellowish, don’t they?(Because they’re chicks?)

Mama duck is sound asleep. 💤 With six little ones, she must have her hands full. Thanks for all your hard work raising them every day. 😂

Just as I thought that, mama duck suddenly splashed into the water and started swimming away. The ducklings hurriedly jumped down from the rock.
“Wait for us, Mom! 💦”

The duck family kept swimming upstream.
Where the Duck Family Was Spotted
At the time, they were in the lower reaches of the Shukugawa River, a little south of Rinkosen Road.
Here it is on the map:
The address is around 1 Ohama-cho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.
Finally
Depending on the day, they might be south of Rinkosen Road, north of it, much closer to the sea, or not visible at all. I feel like they’re easier to spot on days when the river water is low.(That’s just my impression, so sorry if you don’t see them. 💦) By around July each year, they usually look pretty much like the adult ducks, so they’re only this fluffy for now. Hope all six of them grow up healthy. 😊
