Today, July 7, it looks like you can see the illuminated Tanabata🎋 display “Kamiike Amanogawa” at Nishinomiya Shrine’s Natsu Ebisu festival. There also seem to be events you can enjoy from the morning, such as the Furin Market, so if your schedule works, why not stop by? 🎋🌠

Tanabata bamboo decorations will be set up around the shrine grounds, and from evening until 21:00, an LED-lit “Milky Way” will sparkle on the Shinike pond in front of the worship hall. Another flyer said “Amanogawa from 18:00,” so it seems the lights will be turned on from 18:00.
What’s Happening at Natsu Ebisu (Tanabata)
Here are the events planned for today, along with scenes from two years ago!
・Tanabata Decorations Along the Approach
Bamboo branches will be placed along the approach and around the shrine grounds. You can write your wishes on tanzaku strips and tie them on.
There will be tables with tanzaku strips, where you can write your wish and decorate the bamboo.
Tanabata Amanogawa
From evening until 21:00, a Milky Way made of LED lights will appear on the sacred pond in front of the worship hall.
It will probably still be a little bright when the lights first come on. There are bridges without railings around the sacred pond, so it may be safer to bring children in a bit earlier. These days, I think it gets dark before 20:00.
Once the sun sets, it becomes this magical… 🌌 The contrast with the red light of the lanterns (?) is beautiful too 😊(These photos were taken privately by Mama @ Nishi2.)
Children’s Songs
From 19:00 to 21:00, children’s songs will be performed at Nakanoshima in the sacred pond.
A female singer was mainly performing children’s songs. In 2019, she even sang the ending theme from Manga Nihon Mukashibanashi, and in 2017, it seems there were anime songs such as “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis.”
Furin Market
Various wind chimes, a classic sound of summer, will ring out pleasantly around the shrine grounds.
Wind chime shops from all over Japan were there. The sound of wind chimes really helps take your mind off the heat 🎐 It’s not often you get to see this many wind chimes 😊 The Furin Market will also be held on the 7th (Thu) to the 10th (Sun), and on the 20th (Wed).
Food Stalls
There will apparently be food stalls and stalls with games for children.
Two years ago, there were quite a lot of stalls. This year, there will be around 10 to 14 stalls.
Others
There were goshinto lanterns,
and paper lanterns decorated with summer-themed drawings by children.

About Tanabata…
Apparently so. I didn’t know Tanabata was one of the seasonal festivals 💦 It makes you want to welcome the day with more care. Today’s weather is “sunny,” so Orihime and Hikoboshi should be able to meet safely. Hope everyone has a wonderful day too 🎋
