I got takeout of the “Classic Udon Bento” from Marugame Seimen Nishinomiya Maehama, which reopened after renovations on August 9.

What I Bought at “Marugame Seimen”
Classic Udon Bento ¥390 (tax included)
The udon is served cold. After I ordered, they quickly packed it up right in front of me, and it was ready in about a minute.
There was plenty of broth! It came with four kinds of side dishes plus green onions.
Included Side Dishes
- Chikuwa isobe tempura
- Mixed vegetable tempura
- Kinpira gobo
- Tamagoyaki
The tamagoyaki is sweet and moist. The kinpira gobo has a slightly stronger seasoning, and both go really well with the udon!
The tempura made a nice crispy sound when I bit into it!
And the udon has that sticky, chewy texture! Above all, Marugame Seimen’s udon is loooong. Mix it with the broth and green onions, and dig in〜😋
This “Classic Udon Bento” felt like a light dinner portion-wise. For lunch, it might be just right. The tempura will inevitably get a bit soft if too much time passes after buying it, so I recommend eating it soon after purchase!

Tempura and onigiri are also lined up in the takeout corner, so you can look and choose. Payment here was cash only.
