The news release originally said that one bus would operate on the Nishinomiya Yamate Line and Jorinji Line, but it’s been running around Koshien Station and various other places too. The license plate is the same, so I think it really is just one bus, but I wonder why?

Update (8/20)
The bus I happened to ride was Hanshin Bus No. 140 (license plate 51-25). I took the photo quickly when I got off.
According to the “Nishinomiyahama Office” section on the Hanshin Bus wiki, the Nishinomiya Yamate Line and Jorinji Line, where the wrapped bus is supposed to run, are under the jurisdiction of the Nishinomiyahama Office. I would guess that Bus No. 140 is probably assigned to that same garage. For some operational reason, I think it was also assigned to the Nishinomiya Danchi Line, which is handled by the same garage (the official name of the route running Hanshin Nishinomiya ⇔ Kami-Koshien ⇔ Hanshin Koshien ⇔ Hamako Danchi). Since it’s a route that shows up at Hanshin Nishinomiya Station, it does have a slight connection, at least…
I think this may be the truth behind the mystery. What do you think?
If that’s the case, it might appear unexpectedly on any route handled by the Nishinomiyahama Office. Fans will have a hard time chasing it down.
Thank you for the sharp analysis. The day the Haruhi bus appeared in Koshien was also a day of the Summer Koshien tournament, so maybe they wanted to show it off to lots of people. Thanks for the theory and the photo!
