The cherry blossoms along Shukugawa are already looking like they’re about to hit full bloom, and we visited “Tutti Frutti,” an ice cream specialty shop on Koshikiiwa-suji, just a short walk from Shukugawa!

Tutti Frutti’s “Rare Sugar Fiber Soft Serve” and “Additive-Free Ice Cream Triple Kids Size × 2”

“Rare Sugar Fiber Soft Serve Cone” 450 yen
Can you tell just by looking? This thing has real heft. It feels packed full of soft serve😋
The cone is made with rice flour, too. And they make it in-store!! It’s wheat-free. They also make separate cones without egg whites for people with allergies.

See! Now you can tell how densely packed it is, right?
In general, soft serve contains more than half air. This one has less air. That’s why it feels so heavy😏
It’s generous in the truest sense. It was really satisfying to eat. And so rich!

“Additive-Free Ice Cream Triple Kids Size” 450 yen
The ice cream in the middle is, from the top, “Italian Vanilla”“Strawberry”“Genmaicha”.
The Italian vanilla is a different kind of vanilla from the soft serve. Then there’s strawberry with a fruity tartness. And genmaicha, yes, genmaicha!

A big punch of genmaicha!!A gritty, grainy texture
Isn’t genmaicha ice cream super rare? Matcha is common, but this isn’t. Personally, I’m really pushing genmaicha as my No. 1 pick! Definitely try it.

“Additive-Free Ice Cream Triple Kids Size” 450 yen
From the top, it’s “Rum Raisin”“Mango”“Chocolate Chip”.
Rum raisin has a strong hit of rum, with raisins and a crisp, icy texture. I don’t think I’ve had anything quite like this before, but I might like it.
Mango also gives you a full-on mango punch. It feels like frozen mango is mixed right in! Chocolate chip has plenty of crisp chocolate chips. If you want to make a child smile, this is the one!
Inside Tutti Frutti

Inside the shop, they have flavored ice creams and takeout ice cream too.

All the flavors get their colors directly from the ingredients. After all, they’re additive-free. For flavors that discolor easily, like Jonathan apples, hojicha, and melon, they cover them with lids that block light. They also vacuum-seal some items.
It feels like the lineup changes a lot with the seasons. There are an incredible number of varieties, so let’s show you.

They sell more than 80 flavors throughout the year!!! And they’re additive-free, made only with the ingredients themselves.

They also have parfaits this photogenic!

They sell chocolate bars too.

Bring these along for cherry blossom viewing in Shukugawa, and you’ll be a hero. Oh, and you’ll be a hero if you bring them as a regular souvenir too.

These takeout items seem to be color-coded.
The colors show the ingredients.
Yellow Egg
Blue Dairy products
Red Contains none
Green Sherbet with skim milk powder

They also sell things like Tanegashima coarse sugar, which contains minerals.

I like yuzu and things like that, so yuzu tea sounds nice. Apparently some people use it like jam too.
