The cafe I’m always curious about whenever I’m heading toward Bandaki Tunnel
I finally went there.
Open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and national holidays… It’s like a secret hideout where you can feel nature all around you and enjoy time passing slowly~(^^♪

The Exterior of “Honey Garden Cafe”
The sign at the entrance.
The building, surrounded by stone walls and visible from the road in front, has a mysterious feel… The road it faces has quite a bit of traffic moving at speed, so be careful of cars behind you when turning in! It might be important to signal early..⚠

Trying the Food at “Honey Garden Cafe”
From the unusual venison menu… medicinal venison curry, and venison and mushroom cake salé (French for savory cake).

It had plenty of venison, but the spices made it easy to eat and very tasty😀

The cake salé had a moist texture, with the chewiness of the venison and the flavor of paprika matching nicely.

For dessert, I had a canelé, which is often sold out (made with beeswax harvested at Kabutoyama Honey Garden), along with house-roasted coffee.

The house-roasted coffee, roasted by a kind-looking elderly gentleman, had a mild flavor.
The canelé, a traditional French baked sweet, was crisp on the outside and chewy inside. The contrast between crunchy and springy textures was delicious, and the sweetness paired perfectly with the coffee.

How to Order, the Menu, and Inside the Cafe

Next to the ordering counter, the display case is filled with so many delicious-looking salés, quiches, cakes, cookies, and baked sweets that it’s hard to choose.

A notice for customers…

Water and other self-service items are here.

Next to it, there was a small sales corner with books and other items.

Here’s what the seating inside looks like.

It seems reservations are also available.

Through the skylight, you can see the camphor tree, the cafe’s symbolic tree….🌳

They also sold honey filled with the owner’s special care and attention🐝

Terrace Seats and the Outdoor Area
There’s a children’s play area,

and terrace seating (covered with wood chips that felt nice underfoot).

It feels like the camphor tree is watching over the place…

The entrance to the cafe and the ordering area are here↓

In the garden, there were simple-looking dayflowers and smartweed…

Sometimes, mobile vendors set up shop in the garden. On this day, it was “Mitsuya”😀

They kindly gave us a smile for the photo too~😀

Final Thoughts
This cafe surrounded by nature let me recharge with the sunlight streaming through the trees and the cool breeze blowing through. In summer, they apparently prepare mosquito coils, and in winter, stoves are set out.
Why not spend some slow, peaceful time at this cafe filled with the beekeeper owner’s care and attention!(^^)!
Dogs are allowed on the terrace seats only! There’s also parking. Next time, I want to come with my own kids tooー😊
