The Yasui Area and Iwano Sports Around 1969
The small cultural festival held at Iwano Sports featured things like this:

- 1969, the year Iwano Sports opened
- There were three bookstores
- In addition to Futaba Onsen, there was also Showa-yu
- A barber shop, watch shop, and udon shop stood side by side

They want to create a map of the Yasui area around 1969

The map was recreated from the memories of two sisters who were 3 and 9 at the time, and their 91-year-old mother
But this map is still far from complete.
So here’s a request
Would Nishitsu readers like to help complete this map together?
If you go to Iwano Sports, this map is on display there.
They’d be happy if you stopped by and said, “There used to be ___ here!”
If you visit Iwano Sports and say, “I saw this on Nishitsu,” it should be easier to start a conversation.

The note about Takiya Pharmacy running out of toilet paper during the oil shock is somehow really striking.
Finally
You can see how things looked this time on their official Instagram. You can also watch footage from the day in the livestream archive. If you’d like to see what things were like back then, talk about it, or help draw the map, please stop by Iwano Sports.
