Comments from Nishitsu readers about “Kobeya Nishinomiya”
While eating there, I would look at the Kobeya relief on the wall, and as a Kamen Rider fan, I loved the place because it reminded me of “the Shocker logo.”

Back in the 1970s, when I was in elementary school, my family often went there. When I was in college, I used it for dates with my girlfriend. After getting married, I came with my own family too. On the final day, I went with my son and his wife, four of us in all.

Back when there still weren’t many family restaurants around, my parents would take me there from time to time. Turkish rice was my go-to dish.

This was where I made my part-time job debut… It must have been about 40 years ago now…

A friend of mine worked part-time at Kobeya. Whenever we met and talked, my friend would tell me things like, “Ishii Toshiro came in the other day!” The bread was so good…

Long ago, after playing moms’ volleyball at the gym next door, lunch there was delicious. The prices were reasonable too.

So it closed… That makes me sad. I used to go there for lunch all the time. The first time I ever ate lychee was at Kobeya. They had a sweet loaf bread that I loved.

When I was a third-year high school student, I worked part-time washing dishes at this Kobeya and used the money I saved to buy an electric guitar! I was also happy that instead of staff meals, we could take home leftover bread after closing.

When I was a kid, we got Kobeya cakes at Christmas.

We used it for our wrap-up meetings after company events held twice a year.

Every year, we celebrated my second son’s birthday here❤️ We’d been going since he was around third or fourth grade in elementary school, and since he was going to live in a dorm for high school, we were saying that third year of junior high might be the last time〰 His birthday was in August and the restaurant closed in October, so it really did end up being the last time💦 We ate there so often👍 Kobeya Nishinomiya is full of wonderful memories for us
