We’re currently running a survey asking, “What’s your favorite okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinomiya?”♪
The article will be published next week on June 13, but for those who are thinking, “I want to try a special okonomiyaki spot only Nishinomiya locals know about,” here’s a little sneak peek!
What’s your favorite okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinomiya?
Here are three okonomiyaki restaurants we’ll secretly share with you✨
カポ

カポ
The owner is always friendly and works hard running the place on his own. It’s reasonably priced, but the portions are big and really satisfying!

Their Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki seems to be popular, but the sujikon modan-yaki topped with abura-kasu is incredibly delicious. I don’t think you find that at many other places.

I recommend the negiyaki with sujikon topping. The draft beer glasses are ice-cold, which is perfect.

I’ve been going there since I was in high school, back when the previous owner, the grandmother, was still running it.

It’s within walking distance from my family home, and the proprietress is friendly and full of energy. Her cooking skills are amazing too!

ぼくのや

Until this March, I was living alone in Nishinomiya for work, and ぼくのや was close to where I lived. For me, it’s one of the top one or two okonomiyaki places I’ve ever had in my life, and I especially loved the rich sauce. I’ve moved away from Nishinomiya now, but it’s an okonomiyaki place I definitely want to visit again someday.

My mother used to take me there when I was little, and even now, just like back then, seeing the basket filled with eggs and the shredded cabbage is pure happiness😊

I’ve been going there since I was a student. My whole family loves it. The large size back in the day was incredible. Even now, the large is still big! They’re thoughtful too, like adding more sauce for you partway through. I usually get the small mixed modan-yaki with an extra egg. I’m going tomorrow!
