It looks like the sign for “有田屋,” a roasted soybean flour manufacturer in Kubocho, has been renewed.
(Information and photos provided by 7013F HK. Thank you!)
Apparently, “the previous sign was painted more than 30 years ago.” Here it is ↓
If you’ve ever walked down this street, this is the kind of place that makes you go, “Oh! It’s here!” 😄!!
Now it’s been renewed and looks like this ↓

It kept its retro feel, but now it’s all shiny and new 😊
By the way ↓
It looks like a new K’s Denki sign has also been installed on the side of the building!! Maru-chan… lol
What is “有田屋,” the roasted soybean flour maker?
It’s a roasted soybean flour manufacturer that Nishinomiya can be proud of, with a history of more than 100 years since its founding!!
Apparently, its kinako is even used in school lunches.
It has also reportedly been used in kinako bread made in collaboration with the bread maker Oisis, as well as in kinako bread from Happy Tummy Bakery!
Here’s the map ↓
The address is 8-19 Kubocho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture.
Finally
I’d love to try 有田屋’s kinako someday 😋
Unfortunately, it seems they don’t sell retail, but if I find a collaboration product, I’ll give it a try 🙋
