It looks like the “Muji” at LaLaport Koshien will be closing on July 30.

Muji LaLaport Koshien will be closing.
Thank you very much for your patronage over the years.
Final business day: July 30 (Sun)
That’s what it says.

It was also posted on the official website.
Repairs and clothing alterations will end today, 6/30.
On the floor map, it’s here↓
Quoted from Floor Guide | LaLaport Koshien
It’s on the 2nd floor, and I think it’s the biggest shop after the sports shop on the Koshien Stadium side. It even has the logo on it, so it feels a bit special.
目次
LaLaport Koshien has been seeing a lot of changes lately
The 2nd-floor area of Ito-Yokado became part of LaLaport, bringing in “EDION,” LaLaport Koshien’s first electronics retailer, as well as Nishinomiya’s second “Loft” store.
Some of you may also have been surprised by the closure of the CD shop “Tower Mini,” which we reported the other day.
On top of that, 10 stores at LaLaport Koshien will be closing on July 23.
With this many shops closing, maybe LaLaport Koshien has some kind of major renewal coming up, or perhaps a surprising new store is on the way.
Is it because it’s opening at Corowa Koshien this fall?
Speaking of Muji, we just recently reported that it will be opening this fall at “Corowa Koshien,” right by Koshien Station. Maybe this is essentially a relocation?

They’re also hiring part-time staff.
A lot of people were saying, “Huh? There’s already one at LaLaport, and now there’ll be one at Corowa too?” So this kind of makes sense now.
If that’s the case, I get the feeling that the entire 1st floor of Corowa Koshien might become Muji.
But I’m not saying it’s definitely going to take up the whole floor. I just want to talk about what if it did.
Could it become the largest in Hyogo Prefecture?
Last year, the Muji that opened in Gardens opened as the largest Muji store in Hyogo Prefecture, and its size is said to be 1,200 tsubo.
Corowa Koshien has a sales floor area of 29,500㎡ from B2 to the 3rd floor, so dividing that gives 5,900㎡, and dividing by 3.3㎡ per tsubo gives 1,787 tsubo!!!
That would be an overwhelmingly huge space if it all became Muji, though there are other shops on the 1st floor too.
“Whoa!”
Numbers 4 and 5 are Yoshinoya and Osaka Ohsho. 15 is Cycle POSTINO, and 18 is the lottery shop. So that’s pretty much almost everything!!
By feel, it’s about 90%. Let’s multiply: 1,787 × 90% = 1,617 tsubo!
By the way, the world’s largest Muji store is Hiroshima Alpark at 1,870 tsubo, so it wouldn’t quite reach that, but it could still be at the level of one of the largest in the world.
For reference, the sales floor area of Muji at LaLaport Koshien is about 219 tsubo. About seven times bigger
That’s the story, but only
if it really does take up the entire 1st floor of Corowa Koshien.
“Ra, no Hanashi” is included on “Instant Six Sense” by Aimyon, who is from Nishinomiya. It’s such a heartbreaking song. Highly recommended. Please buy it at Tower Mini
Finally
Muji at LaLaport Koshien opened on November 25, 2004, the same day LaLaport Koshien itself opened. At the time, it seems they gave away original paperback-size notebooks as an opening commemoration, so I’m sure quite a few people still remember that. It’ll be sad to see it disappear from LaLaport Koshien. Still, since it looks like Muji will remain in Koshien and become a much larger store, there’s also something to look forward to.
