It appears that Nishinomiya City’s J-Alert receiver is malfunctioning.
Here ↓
Until the J-Alert receiver is restored, the city is asking people to gather information through the following:
- TV
- Radio
- Emergency alert emails (Area Mail) delivered to mobile phones and other devices

Due to the malfunction, if emergency information is distributed via J-Alert, the city is currently unable to automatically broadcast it through the disaster prevention administrative radio system or emergency alert radios.

This only means that automatic broadcasting is difficult; manual broadcasts are still possible. However, since they may be slower than automatic broadcasts, TV, radio, and mobile Area Mail alerts are likely to be faster sources of information.
Restoration work is currently underway, but it seems there is no set timeline for recovery yet.
Lastly
A nationwide J-Alert test had been scheduled for July 12, but it happened to be canceled. (There were reports that this was in response to North Korea’s ballistic missile launch.)
