Every October, during the “Takagi Autumn Festival,” people carry the mikoshi (portable shrine) from Takagi Hachiman Shrine in a procession.
Here↓

This looks like so much fun
(Photos and video are from before the COVID pandemic)
For the past three years, the mikoshi procession could not be held because of the COVID pandemic.
Last year↓

As you can see, the mikoshi was only put on display at Takagi Hachiman Shrine.

There was also a mikoshi experience for children. And they recruited people to carry the mikoshi.

But there still aren’t enough carriers😢
The Takagi area has held mikoshi processions for many years. After the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the festival was also held with hopes for recovery.

We want to pass on the tradition of carrying the mikoshi to the future
So, to make this a fun festival for everyone,
“Would you like to become one of the mikoshi carriers?”
All genders are welcome. Beginners are more than welcome. Of course, experienced carriers, people who want to liven things up, and anyone thinking, “If they’re really in that much trouble, I’ll lend a hand” are all very welcome too!!
