What is “Manpuku”?
“Manpuku” is a serial drama that aired as an NHK morning drama from autumn 2018. It is based on the lives of entrepreneur Momofuku Ando, who created instant ramen, and his wife, Masako.

“Koshien Kaikan” appears as the “Osaka Toyo Hotel,” where the heroine Fukuko works. During the 2018 broadcast, footage of Koshien Kaikan appeared in a total of 13 of the 18 episodes aired in weeks 1 through 3. There are a few spots that look different from the actual scenery. Can you spot them〜?
The answer is…
The wall in the foreground and the doors at the entrance of the building in the back are different✨ In the drama, they look more stately〜♪
It seems like it would be fun to watch while playing spot-the-difference like this〜.
Also, according to this site, Kobe College was also used as a filming location.
It was used as the girls’ high school that the heroine Fukuko attended, and apparently the Science Hall and courtyard appear on screen.

Finally
This drama aired about five years ago, and since Nishinomiya was used as a filming location, many of you may have watched it at the time. Koshien Kaikan is also my alma mater, and scenes from around the campus appeared several times, so I watched it while feeling pretty nostalgic😊
*Wanko-san, thank you for the information!!
