An Okinawan home-style restaurant called “島んちゅの台所 隠れ家 や鈍” has opened in the Shin-Koshien Shopping Street.

If you go this way, you’ll find Hinode Shoten, and it leads out to Sakagura-dori.
If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll find Amibiki Park, and beyond that is Rinko Line.
Here’s the sign. Apparently, “や鈍（屋鈍）” is the name of a place on Amami Oshima.

Amami Oshima is located roughly halfway between Kagoshima and Okinawa, and “Yadon” is on the west coast of Amami Oshima.
It looks like they serve not only home-style dishes from Amami Oshima, but Okinawan cuisine as well.
There are lots of dishes that really feel unique to Okinawa〜😄
They also seem to carry kokuto shochu from every distillery in the Amami Islands.
It looks like they also have the Okinawan ice cream brand “Blue Seal”. The items written in the upper right, “dragon fruit, star fruit, Okinawan pineapple, and syrup mango,” might be ice cream flavors. Or maybe drinks? Desserts? So curious…!🤩
Finally
“Shimanchu” is an Okinawan word meaning “island person” or “person of the islands.” It has such a warm, welcoming feel to it, doesn’t it?🤗 The standing sign also says “a gathering place,” so it must be a cozy, homey kind of restaurant.
