On Sunday, October 8, a very Reiwa-era chindon street band came to that Showa-retro “Shukugawa Green Town.”

Who’s that group on the pedestrian bridge in front of Shukugawa Station?!

It’s a chindon band~~~~

A Reiwa-style chindon band made up of four women.

Of course, they paraded around in front of Shukugawa Station too.

And through that underground passage leading to Green Town.

They even crossed the crosswalk, moving along while ringing out chin-chin♪ don-don♪ sounds.

They’re Kobe University’s chindon circle, “Shindai Modern Donchiki”.

Apparently, they came that day to promote Shukugawa Green Town’s “Premium Gift Certificates.”

Since kids probably don’t really know what a chindon band is, they looked totally fascinated.

Come to think of it, what even is this instrument? Is it something unique to chindon bands? A frying pan, or maybe one of those oil containers? Total chaos, lol.

They rode the escalator with style

Even the vegetable section was no problem

They won over the shoppers with their wonderful performance

Shukugawa Green Town’s idols for just one day?!
It was “Shindai Modern Donchiki”~~!

Still, watching them play rock-paper-scissors over the juice someone brought them really showed they’re just adorable college girls, lol.

Actually, it sounds like they’ll be coming back to Shukugawa Green Town again. We’ll let you know once the date is confirmed.
