Looks like traffic will switch to the new Namaze Tunnel from February 13

It looks like traffic on National Route 176 will be switched over to the newly built Namaze Tunnel.

Apparently traffic will be switched over to this road.

From Najio Road: National Route 176 Traffic to Be Switched to the Newly Completed Namaze Tunnel – Scheduled for 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13 | Kinki Regional Development Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

Construction is underway to expand this road from the current two lanes to four lanes, with the aim of preventing traffic restrictions during abnormal weather conditions.

The address is Namaze, Shiose-cho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

After the switch to the tunnel, this road will probably be closed for construction.

The full completion of the Najio Road four-lane expansion is expected in spring 2026.
