What “Ebisu Mai” Looks Like
Gayaki No. 509, a Nishitsu supporter, sent us photos from a previous “Ebisu Mai” performance.

The puppets, performers’ costumes, props, and instruments are all so colorful, creating a festive New Year’s atmosphere😊

It’s amazing how much dynamic movement can be expressed with puppets😄

Maybe this is the part where Ebisu is about to get on the boat and catch the sea bream.
Finally
Ebisu Mai is performed at Nishinomiya Shrine on the 10th of every month, but chances to see it are probably not that common. Since it will be easy to watch at Gardens, anyone going that day might want to check it out.
* Thank you to Iroha & Gayaki No. 509, Nishitsu supporters, for the information!!
