Speaking of Nishinomiya Shrine, the venue…

The main shrine building is currently under construction to replace its roof tiles, but if you go farther in,

there’s a temporary main shrine, so you can still properly pay your respects.
Here is Nishinomiya Shrine Hall, the venue↓

Nishinomiya Shrine Hall is a lovely facility used for weddings and other events.
Let’s go inside.

It feels like wait, is this a hotel?! This is the kind of venue where the childcare worker job fair is held every year.
Here’s what it actually looks like↓

A lot of people don’t know this, but you can wear whatever you like. It’s actually a pretty easygoing event to attend.
Oh, and yes. Everyone who attends gets this.

You’ll receive a dango voucher for “Okame Chaya,” the rest spot inside Nishinomiya Shrine. Little perks like this are nice, aren’t they?

A record-high number of nursery school and certified kodomoen booths
The booths for nursery schools and certified kodomoen are probably what you’re most curious about.

This time, the number of Nishinomiya City nursery school and certified kodomoen organizations taking part in the job fair is a record high: 31 organizations and 59 facilities! It’s not often you get the chance to speak directly with this many places. And of course, it’s free.

They’re recruiting childcare workers, childcare teachers, and nutritionists too.
Nishinomiya City offers generous support for childcare workers
Did you know that Nishinomiya City has more generous support programs than many other cities?

Nishinomiya City fully supports childcare workers! With housing subsidies, student loan repayment support, and other generous support programs unique to Nishinomiya City, it offers an environment that makes it easier to work.
Especially this↓

It’s the ratio of childcare workers to children. This is really important because it means more time to spend carefully with each child.
Working in Nishinomiya City is incredibly convenient
Nishinomiya is in a great location for getting to both Osaka and Kobe, but that’s not the only reason it’s convenient.

Nishinomiya is served by Hankyu, Hanshin, and JR lines, and many childcare facilities are close to stations, making it an easy place to work. The northern area is well covered too. Some childcare facilities even allow commuting by car.
A sneak peek at the job fair venue
Now, let’s take a look at what the job fair venue is like.

The venue is on the 2nd floor of Nishinomiya Shrine Hall. Once you go up the stairs, you’ll find the reception desk.

Last year’s reception looked like this. You check in here and receive an individual interview card.

In the waiting room near reception, you fill out the individual interview card you received.

It comes as a set of 5 carbon-copy sheets, and you hand this individual interview card to the staff at each childcare facility booth.
But when it comes time for an interview, it’s natural to feel anxious or nervous.
- Should I work as a full-time regular employee?
- Which nursery school or certified kodomoen would suit me?
- What age groups are the teachers there?
- I’d like to work three days a week.
- How many hours would I work?
- Which places are easier for experienced workers to work at?
You may have questions like these and wonder, “Would it be rude to ask the childcare facility staff directly?” For times like that, there’s a really helpful section.

Before you enter the booth area, you can get plenty of advice at the “Kokonishi” booth, run by the Nishinomiya City Childcare Worker Employment Support Center. You can even ask something like, “I don’t even know what I should be asking.” That’s really reassuring.

“At the Kokonishi booth, you can consult with staff while looking through the ‘Nishinomiya Childcare Worker Career Support Book’ you receive at reception. The ‘Nishinomiya Childcare Worker Career Support Book’ is a booklet that covers all the information on participating organizations, including salaries, days off, benefits, and more.
