Apparently, each store will sell only 10 per day.
They will be sold at the following 4 locations.
- Bern Koshien Main Store (Map)
- Bern Corowa Koshien Store (Map)
- Bern Kotoen Store (Map)
- Bern Koshienguchi Store (Map)
Across all stores, that’s 7 days x 4 stores x 10 cakes = only 280 cakes in total.
Why a Fire Extinguisher Cake?
It seems the Naruo Fire Station is collaborating with Bern on this fire extinguisher cake as part of the Spring Fire Prevention Campaign, since the air tends to get dry in early spring and fires are more likely to occur.
This is a cooperative project to clearly promote how to use a fire extinguisher, which is extremely effective for initial firefighting when a fire breaks out. Apparently, the product label includes a QR code linking to a video on how to use a fire extinguisher.
The one I found on Amazon was a type that can spray for 12 seconds and cost around 3,500 yen.
Finally
I think most people know that tools like fire extinguishers and AEDs can directly save lives, but if you’re asked whether you know exactly how to use them… well, this might be a good chance to watch the video while eating cake. I feel like that would really make the instructions stick. Honestly, I just want to eat this cake lol.
