Here’s why they’re being cut down↓
According to the source, the three palm trees in front of the specialized course building, which had been loved for 60 years, are being removed for safety reasons. They certainly are big, but it seems they had grown a bit too much, and fallen leaves blown by strong winds would sometimes reach as far as Rinkosen Road.

It looks like two of the palm trees were cut down in the morning. I think the remaining one will be cut down in the afternoon.
In Closing
Going forward, they plan to plant a new symbolic tree that won’t grow quite so large and can be loved for many years. It does feel a bit sad for those who have been seeing these trees for ages, but if one were to fall and hit someone directly, it would be extremely dangerous, so it can’t really be helped…
