The grand opening flyer is out for “もんどマート”, opening on 4/22.
(Information provided by Furafura Kansai)
Here it is↓

The sale runs from Monday, April 22 to Wednesday, April 24.
These prices are low. During yesterday’s Nishitsu-dori live stream, we asked everyone about the going rates at supermarkets in Nishinomiya, and got chat comments like these:
- Aren’t all of these cheap…? Carrots are usually around 198 yen for 3.
- 98 yen for 3 large onions is wild. They’d normally be over 150 yen.
- Fresh shiitake mushrooms are usually 200–300 yen. (On sale for 106 yen)
- Octopus is usually around 380 yen, right? (On sale for 322 yen)
- The lettuce is cheap! Usually around 130 yen maybe? (On sale for 106 yen)
- Chicken breast at 58 yen is cheap. At XX Supermarket, even the cheap price is 68 yen.
- Pork offcuts at 98 yen is cheap too. Even XX Supermarket is 98 yen only when it’s on sale.
- I feel like pork belly is usually sold for around 200 yen. (On sale for 182 yen)
- Young chicken breast at XX Supermarket is 48 yen per 100g including tax.
If you’re curious about which supermarket “XX Supermarket” is, check out the live stream~

Canola oil, packaged noodles, eggs, and more seem to be good deals. By the way, packaged noodles that aren’t on sale are apparently around 450 yen.
During the stream, everyone also got excited talking about tasty things you could make with items from this flyer~
- I think Yamazaki’s dango are the best in the dango world.
- The bonito is good as-is and comes with sauce, but add even more garlic.
- The packaged seared bonito comes with sauce and shredded daikon, so add green onions and tube garlic, then put it on hot rice!
- Redfish is perfect for saikyo-yaki. Saikyo-yaki is when you grill fish that’s been marinated in miso. Marinate it in saikyo miso and grill it. (Apparently you should marinate it overnight, or up to 4–5 days.)
- For atsuage, crisp up the surface in a toaster, then pile on green onions and ponzu…
One I personally like↓

This is the kind of thing that’s delicious over rice~.
*Thanks to everyone who joined the live stream, and to Furafura Kansai for the information!!
